DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 01: Arrive at Kigali and transfer to Nyungwe Forest
Upon your arrival, you will be welcomed by our professional tour guide/driver who will to take you for a city excursion in and around Kigali city so that you are oriented about this small yet great country with a thousand hills. After this daytrip in Kigali, we will drive to Nyungwe for your overnight at Nyungwe Top View Hotel.
DAY 02: Chimpanzee trekking (optional Canopy walk in Nyungwe)
After your breakfast, you will transfer to Nyungwe Forest for briefing and then start trekking chimpanzees in the forest. You will be required to wake up early enough for you to have chances of spotting them. You can alternatively go for the adventurous canopy walk which involves walking from one end of the forest to another viewing bird and several species of primates. DAY 03: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After your breakfast, you will leave Nyungwe Forest and transfer to Volcanoes National Park arriving in the late afternoon for overnight and dinner at: Lebambou Gorilla Lodge
DAY 04: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Early morning breakfast at the lodge before you set out for an exciting morning drive to the park for Gorilla trekking to learn about their unique character. The activity immerses you into the extraordinary intimacy of the rainforest plus a live call of vibrant birds, chattering of the rare golden monkey. You will be allowed to spend one full hour with the Gorillas taking memorable pictures. You will later return to the park offices for your tracking certificate in appreciation for your contribution to the conservation of these apes. Later relax at the lodge from the tiresome and exciting activity. Dinner and night stay at Lebambou Gorilla Lodge.
DAY 05: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
After breakfast, cross the borders to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda. You will cross from Rwanda to Uganda via Chanika and then drive to your Lodge. Dinner and night stay at Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge.
DAY 06: Gorilla Tracking.
Leave with your packed lunch early morning breakfast, report to the Park headquarters for registration and join other guests for briefing about the dos and the don’ts during your Gorilla Tracking. You will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with guides to find the Gorillas in their natural habitat which can take you half an hour to three quarters of the day. You may opt for a forest walk or community walk. Dinner and night stay at Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge.
DAY 07: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
This morning you will depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park after a tasty breakfast, be prepared for some incredible scenery along the way driving through local communities. You will arrive in time for Lunch at the lodge and have a game drive in the plains of Kasenyi in search for savannah wildlife including herds of buffaloes, antelopes, elephants and on a lucky day some wild cats such as lions and leopard. Dinner and overnight at Elephant Hab.
DAY 08: Morning Game drive and boat on Kazinga Channel.
After breakfast, you will head to back to the plains of Kasenyi for a morning game drive to find what could have missed the previous day. Lunch will be served at the lodge and after which you will head for boat cruise along kazinga channel in the afternoon. This cruise offers you chances of viewing wildlife like; hippos, water birds, buffaloes, elephants, crocodiles and many other wildlife which flop the channel for drinking water. Dinner and night stay at Elephant Hab.
DAY 09: Morning game drive and transfer to Kibale NP
After an early breakfast drive to the northern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park (kasenyi) area in search for the wild animals like the Elephants, Buffalos, Antelopes and the big cats and Savanna birds among others. After lunch you will transfer to Kibale Forest National Park arriving at your lodge in the evening. Chimpanzee Forest Guest House.
DAY 10: Chimp Tracking.
You will drive to the park headquarters to join other trackers for registration and briefing and after you will be taken for chimpanzee tracking through the park. During this walk you will have chances of watching many of the 13 primate species native to the Park. You will drive to Bigodi for a swamp walk after lunch. This wetland belongs to community neighboring the park. You will later retire to the lodge at: Chimpanzee Forest Guest House.
DAY 11: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
We will transfer to Murchison Falls National after an early breakfast Park through small towns, villages and great sights of the escarpment arriving late evening. Dinner and overnight at: Pakuba Safari Lodge.
DAY 12: Morning game drive & boat cruise to the bottom of the falls
After an early cup of tea, transfer to the northern segment known as Paraa for a morning game drive that will provide you an opportunity of seeing wild game that may include, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and if lucky cats including lions and leopards. Return to the lodge for a lunch and proceed with boat cruise to the bottom of the falls to witness how river Nile squeezes itself in a narrow gorge before exploding out producing a lifetime experience. DAY 13: Transfer to Entebbe en route Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Transfer to Kampala with a break in your journey at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary before proceeding to Kampala and then head to the guest house for overnight stay at Boma Guest House.
DAY 14: Ngamba Island (Chimpanzee Sanctuary)
Drive from Entebbe town and straight to waters of Lake Victoria to embark on your afternoon boat cruise to Ngamba Island. This one-hour boat cruise will uncover the colorful birds, cross the equator arriving at Ngamba for an informative talk about the orphaned chimpanzees. After the talk, you will then proceed to view orphaned chimpanzees feeding and then return to Entebbe Main Land for your overnight. Dinner and night stay at: Boma Guest House.
DAY 15: Departure
After your breakfast and depending on your flight details, you will be transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your flight.
