DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park
Your guide/driver will pick you up from Kigali airport for your transfer to Volcanoes National Park the home of mountain Gorillas. The drive takes you through the scenic beauty of Rwanda hills and a visit through the Kigali city including the Gisozi genocide memorial site. You will have your lunch in Kigali city and later drive North West of Rwanda to Volcanoes National Park arriving in the evening hours. Dinner and night stay at Bakiga Lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla tracking in Volcanoes NP & Departure
Have an early morning breakfast at the Lodge after which you will transfer to the park headquarters for briefing and allocation of Gorilla tracking groups with other guests. You will connect to the trail head and hit the forest in search of the gigantic primates known as the Mountain Gorillas. The Gorilla tracking experience takes between 2-6 hours depending on the location of the Gorillas on a particular day. You will be allowed to have one full hour to stay with the Gorillas in their natural habitat as you observe their unusual habits as the young ones play about and the some feeding on leaves. After your close encounter with the Gorillas you will return to the Lodge to check out and depart for Kigali for your flight.
