The 1 day Rwanda gorilla tour takes you to Rwanda’s lush Volcanoes National Park in the north-west of Rwanda to encounter the endangered Mountain gorillas. The Park was established in 1952 and covers over 160 square kilometers. It is one of the four magnificent destinations sheltering to the remaining population of these great apes in addition to being home to five of the 8 Virunga Volcanoes.

Day 1: Gorilla tracking in Volcanoes NP
You will be picked by your experienced safari guide/driver at 4:30 am for a 3 hours’ journey to the Volcanoes National Park from Kigali city. Drive through the incredible hilly countryside that makes Rwanda the “land of a thousand hills” and arrive at the Park Headquarters by 7:00 am for briefing by Park Rangers on this great activity of tracking the gorillas. You will then be split in groups of 8 and assigned gorilla groups to track.
You will be driven to the trailhead to start the trek at 8:00 am that will be led by park rangers and hit the forest in search for a habituated gorilla family. On finding the allocated gorilla family, you will spend one full hour with them and be amazed by their notable behavior as you take photos of them feeding, playing or resting. You will then be led back to the starting point for your tracking certificate and drive back to Kigali to catchup with your flight or to the Hotel in Kigali.
