Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Nairobi
Meet your guide on arrival at Kenyatta International Airport, receive a short briefing about your trip and then drive to your city hotel for dinner and night stay.
Day 02: Nairobi to Aberdare National Park
After breakfast at your hotel depart and proceed to the Aberdare Ranges in central province of Kenya where you will arrive in time for lunch and head to your lodge. The lodge overlooks a floodlit waterhole and salt lick which attracts lots of wildlife enabling you to watch them from the comfort of your room or at the lodge view decks.
Day 03: Aberdare to Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast you will depart from Aberdare and drive to Lake Nakuru the most famous bird lover’s paradise of Kenya. Visit the renowned Thompson falls which is on this route for photography and relaxation at the falls. You will have a short walk in the beautiful nature trail found at the base of the falls. Afterwards, proceed to Lake Nakuru arriving at the time for lunch. After lunch, head to the park for flamingos, pelican, black rhino, white rhino, giraffe, hyena, leopard, buffalo, warthog and other numerous plains game. In the evening enjoy a brisk walk along the shores of Lake Nakuru as you watch the sun set. You will then transfer back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 04: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Park
After breakfast you will check out at the lodge and depart to the Mara Reserve, home to the big five and numerous plains game. If you visit between July and October, you will have a great opportunity to spot the annual wildebeest migration. You will arrive in time for check in and have lunch at your lodge before departing for afternoon game drive. You could also opt for hot air balloon safari (optional), guided nature walks, bush lunch/dinner/breakfast, bird walks, and evening sundowner. Dinner and night stay at the Lodge.
Day 05: Masai Mara National Park
Spend a full day at leisure exploring the far-reaching and beautiful Mara reserve, look out for the big five enjoying game drives with all meals being served at the lodge. Optional activities here include a visit to the Maasai villages, walking safaris or hot air balloon safari (at an extra cost). After this beautiful day. Dinner and night stay at the lodge at Masai Mara.
Day 06: Masai Mara – Nairobi – Departure
Depart from the park early enough and return to Nairobi to catch up with your flight to Rwanda. You will be picked by our representative on arrival at Kigali international airport and be transferred to Bwindi – the home of Gorillas. Overnight and dinner at Mahogany springs.
Day 07: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi National Park
Wake up early, have your breakfast and then transfer to the bwindi park offices for briefing about the gorilla trekking rules by the park rangers. After proceed for gorilla trekking in the jungle forest. The trek takes 2-6 hours and once they are found, you will stay with them for one full hour as you take photos and watching them playing with their young ones in their natural way of life. You will later return to the park headquarters and to transfer to Goma after trekking gorillas and stay at the Hotel relaxing. Dinner and overnight at Mahogany springs.
Day 08: Transfer from Bwindi to Goma in DR Congo
Our guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you for a short community tour where you will see the batwa people to understand their traditional way of life. You will transfer to Gisenyi then cross the border to Goma in the DR Congo. Dinner and overnight stay at Bukima tented Camp.
Day 09: Nyiragongo Volcano Hike
After an early morning breakfast, take a short drive from Goma to Kabati the starting point for Nyiragongo hiking. You will have a briefing before you start hiking the Nyiragongo volcano through the impressive rain forest and continue on the lava eruption cleft and reach the summit in the evening hours. Have a whole evening enjoying the great view from the crater and as you watch the lava inside. Dinner and overnight at the crater.
Day 10: Descending the Nyiragongo Volcano
Have breakfast and start to descend down to the bottom of Nyiragongo volcano mountain to meet your driver and return to Goma and if time allows , you will have a short city tour of Goma visiting Goma caves and then continue to the border to cross to Rwanda for your flight at Kigali international Airport.
