DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
You will depart Kampala in the morning after breakfast and travel westwards through Uganda’s beautiful green countryside up to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey will take you about 6 or 7 hours with stopovers at areas of tourist attraction such as the Royal Drum makers’ village along the way and the Equator. You will continue with your journey and get to Queen in the evening. Dinner and overnight will be at Bush Lodge
Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking at Kyambura
After breakfast, you can proceed to either Kyambura Gorge for a memorable primate walk. You will be amazed at the unique character of the Chimps as they feed and play. You will also visit the bat cave or visit the Blue Lake. You will later drive back to Kampala arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Bush Lodge.
Day 3: Game drive and boat cruise
You will set off early for a morning game drive, an awesome experience to spot the animals in natural habitats when they’re most active. Expect to see the big five including the Elephant, Buffalos, Lions, Bush bucks, Kobs, Giant forest hog, Hyenas leopards, antelopes, and Waterbucks and birds. Return for breakfast and relax till lunch.
You will launch cruise along the amazing Kazinga channel in the afternoon to see at close range the water animals including Hippos, Buffalos, and Crocodiles. There is also a variety of bird species on the water banks like the pelican and Jacana. Dinner and overnight at Bush Lodge.
Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi National park
After breakfast, you will be led to Bwindi through Ishasha sector which is well known for the tree climbing lions. You will have a game drive to catch up with early risers like the lions, leopards, hyenas, elephants, antelopes, Buffaloes and many more. Morning time is good as animals are very active to catch a meal for the day. You will later proceed to Bwindi arriving in the evening and check in at Ichumbi Gorilla lodge.
Day: 5 Gorilla tracking
In the morning after breakfast with packed lunch, you will be led to the starting point for briefing by your guide. You will be allocated guides to track gorillas with, and then will set off to begin your adventure. The activity takes you 2-6 hours or more depending on the movement of the Gorillas. The thrill of meeting face to face encounter takes away the pain of the long trek. Enjoy a close view of adult gorillas feeding, grooming and resting as the young ones swing from tree to tree delightfully. After tracking, you will walk back to your lodge for overnight stay at Ichumbi Gorilla lodge.
Day 6: Travel to Kampala
After breakfast, you will leave for to Kampala for overnight or transfer to the airport for your flight.
