DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Kigali to Queen Elizabeth NP
Our professional driver/guide will pick you up from Kigali City o arrival and immediately and transfer you to Queen Elizabeth National park for an evening game drive if time allows. This journey through kabale exposes you to the remarkable rolling hills, and Bunyaruguru popularly known for its crater lakes. Check in to the lodge for a short relaxation before heading to Kasenyi Plains for an evening game drive to have your eyes on several animals like antelopes, buffaloes, Elephants, and on a lucky day big cats like lions and leopards. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge –luxury.
Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise
After early morning breakfast, you will head back to the plains of Kasenyi in the park for a morning game drive to catch up with what you could have missed the previous day, such as the early morning hunters and the night hunters coming back to rest. Go for lunch at the lodge and after head to Kazinga channel for the afternoon boat cruise. While enjoying the cruise ride, you stand a chance of seeing animals including hippos, water birds, elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles and much other wildlife which flock the channel to drink water. Dinner and night stay at Mweya safari lodge.
Day 3: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After a very delicious breakfast, you will drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through the Ishasha sector. Bwindi is home to almost half of the world’s most endangered mountain gorillas with four different sectors where tracking can be done. Enjoy the rolling hills of this countryside of Uganda and upon arrival at your lodge, check in for dinner and overnight at Buhoma community Rest camp.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Wake up to a morning breakfast, and with your packed lunch report to the park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking. The Uganda wildlife authority rangers will take you through all the guidelines for this experience with the gorillas. You will then head to the starting point of your gorilla family. Just put in mind that gorilla family allocation depends on your interests, fitness and age as a visitors, you will need to communicate with your guide/driver to cater for your needs in time.
Gorilla trekking takes 30 minutes to almost the entire day depending on how far these primates have gone. This time includes one hour given to you to just relax and study their behaviors and observe their lifestyle. Return to the park headquarters to pick your certificates before heading back for dinner and overnight at Buhoma community Rest camp.
Day 5: Drive back to Kigali Airport. Departure flight
After breakfast, drive back to Kigali for a short city tour in Rwanda and proceed to the airport after your lunch in Kigali city.
