DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 01: transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Depart in the morning after breakfast and drive south-west to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will have a short stop at the Equator for an educational talk and a moment for memorable pictures. The journey then continues through Mbarara where there will be a stopover for lunch. Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of the mountain gorilla through the rolling green hills of Kigezi in Kabale also known as the ‘Switzerland of Africa’ before making the final journey to the park. Dinner and overnight at Bakiga Lodge.
Day 02: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi NP
After breakfast you will transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing and registration before you set off to search for these humble giants. You will go with packed lunch because it’s hard to determine how long it would take you to meet the Gorillas. The time taken is between 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of these primates. The activity is hard as you walk along sharp hilly tracks however encountering these great relatives of man erases all the poor memories of hardships you went through find them. After meeting the Gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one full hour with them as you study their behavior and taking memorable pictures. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Bakiga Lodge.
Day 03: Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth Nation Park
After breakfast, embark on the journey transferring to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive will take you through the Ishasha sector arriving at Queen in the afternoon. You will have a game drive enroute where you might spot game like the lions, Buffaloes and Elephants way as you transfer to the park headquarters. You must watch out for tree climbing lions in the Ishasha sector. In the afternoon you will have a boat ride on the Kazinga channel that connects lakes Edward and George. The launch cruise will reward you with game like large schools of hippos, elephants, buffaloes and birds at the shores before retiring to your accommodation for dinner and overnight at Bush Lodge.
Day 04: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Kampala
You will wake up to have a cup of coffee or a glass of water/ juice and proceed for an early morning game drive through the Kasenyi track and the queens’ mile in the park and will reward you with animals like Lions, elephants, hyenas, Giant forest hogs, Warthogs, Bush bucks, Hyenas, civets, aardvarks and Leopards among others. After the drive you will drive to Kampala to reach in the evening for your flight home.
